Not a HD item but it would do the job a lot cheaper.....

I have one for my 09SG. But unlike others who say they rarely take thiers off, I only put mine on when riding with the misses, or going on long trips when I need the extra space.

I have the detachable tour pak for my EGlide standard. I sure like the extra room when I need it, wife likes the comfy armchair feel. LOL

I guess I'm in the minority. I very rarely use mine and probably wouldn't miss it as I can get just as much in a good luggage rack bag. The only benefit for me is I can get another bag on top of the TP but I've learned not to put too much weight up there as it tends to make the front end light when riding 2 up.

Just ordered my new vivid black king tour-pak from lake shore Harley for $599 and free shipping Local dealer is having 25% off on parts/accessories, so I got the pad, docking hardware and rack from them. (they don't do painted parts for discount)

I say go for it!

Get ready to make a trip to the hardware store.

With all the hardware that comes with the TP and TP rack, none of it worked.

I'm 2 blocks away from ACE. What didn't work for you? The other kit I installed for the detach backrest worked fine.

I bought the detachable king tour pak about this time last year...The wife sure likes better than the sissy bar and I can also take it off for the Road King Classic look, although it rarely comes off.

I had a 2004 lowrider and used a t-bag. Went to Sturgis and other rallies, two up. Had a 2007 Fatboy, same thing. My friends have ultras. Saw the use of a tour pak. Wished I had one. Now I have a 2010 Roadking with a king tour pak. Detachable. Had not taken it off. Love it. It is great. Actually can haul much more and it is easier. Does not affect my ride.

Nothing worked! The hardware that came with the TP rack and the TP were all trash. Either too short or wrong size. I am using a GA TP relocator plate, but even before I installed that plate, none of the hardware worked.

I don't live too far from a well supplied hardware store as well, but that isn't the point. Having paid top dollar for a TP along with other accessories, it should come with hardware that works.
