Light travels faster than sound.
This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Default Clunk

On my '03 FLHTCI, my clunk was a little annoying. I changed the trans oil to Amsoil and it really smoothed the shifting. Now on my '08 Street Glide, the neutral to first gear clunk is way worse than the '03 ever was, especially when cold. It idles at 1500 RPM until it warms up. Who makes the hydraulic tensioner you guys keep talking about?

I thought it was way too fast too. Yes I hold the clutch in for 5-10 seconds. Makes no difference. This morning, no clunk for some reason. Bike idles at 1000 RPM when warm. Clunk is less then. Can the Harley dealer bring the idle down?

Have you tried resetting the idle?
To reset it cycle the ignition switch 4 or 5 times waiting about 10 seconds in between.

I used Redline in my primary, it's got 138,000 miles on it, mo parts replaced. I got 111,000 miles on the original clutch, used H/D trans for about 75,000 or so then switched to the heavy shockproof. I love it, I might drink me some....
