Default Miss Clunk

I ride with my bo-in-law and his Goldwing...He gives my bike a puzzeled look when I clunk it in gear...I would miss that look!

I like the clunk, it alerts the 4 wheeled thingies next to me at the stop light, that I'm in gear and ready to go, so do loud clunks save lives?

The ATF is the only thing that will give this effect. Clutch plates aren't stuck together and seperate easy. You want to see freakishly silent first gear shift, the Rivera and atf will blow your mind, even with stock HD ratchet adjuster.

Clunk is hd , if it bothers you , get a honda. Also , If you dont want it to clunk into first , stop being in such a hurry and hold the cluch in for 10 sec , then place in first. Holding the cluch in for an additional moment lets everthing come to a stop before you place it in gear. Didnt anyone here ever drive an old truck ,or for that matter a newer large rig. If you push in the clutch and jam it in gear , the whole truck will surge forward. SLow down and save your gears.

Better clunk than grind, clunk means a healthy shift, don't mind clunkers

My Harley doesn't clunk - BETWEEN SHIFTS!!!

Of course it's been so long since I've ridden it, I might be wrong!

Problem??? Who determined this "clunk" to be a problem? I have had many bikes over the years. Some of them made a noise when put in gear others didn't. But it was never a problem!!
