Thanks Gunrunner. You are right I want useable power and didn't know about the 2000 - 4500 range. Anybody have cams that come on in the 2000-4500? What do you have and how do you like them?
Never needed them with the TC88, mine has plenty of power with just the air and remap, but I ran the same as the 203's on my 93 bagger and it made a big increase in useable power.
The guy that did my dyno said if you are going to the expense of a cam swap and want to use SE with the stock mill, use the 204 's. The 203 's supposedly are only slightly different from stock. I could tell a big difference when mine were installed.
I'm currently running a 2010 softail custom. I have a stage 1 kit, and a screaming eagle super tuner. (My power commander 5 **** the bed after a year) I would like to get some cams installed that would allow me to spin the back tire, and snap my head back. However, I do a lot of group riding and long distance rides. When I install the cams, I will also install a set of adjustable push rods, so they don't have to tear into the heads yet.
Any suggestions ? When the $$ becomes available, I will also get the big bore kit, and port and polish the heads.
Sticking with a an 88? Andrews 21 all day! Tons of low end torque! On a bagger this means quick with tons of pulling power. Do a search. The 26 is a good second choice.

I run a set of S&S 551 EZ starts in my 96 inch Ultra. Very happy with them and that 2000-4500 range is just about dead on. I can feel them pull a bit past 4500 but not much-- maybe 4800 before they start running out of puff.
I can pull away from and stay in front of a Stage 1 103 to 100 mph (that's fast enough for me from time to tme).
I just had the wood 555 installed on my street glide (2010) 96' with a se heavy breather, pc5 and pro pipe. The pro pipe woke the bike up hope the cams will do the same. I'll post a review when I get back home to ride.
