Default Honest Opinion Road Glide

I'm thinking about getting a new Road Glide and have never ridden one. I just want to here from the Road Glide folks on how they like them, how they handle with the fixed fairing, etc. Coming from a Street Glide, have you ever ridden a batwing bike? Pro's and con's, thanks for any info.

With the gauges further out in front of you, it will feel more spacious. It takes an hour or two to get use to the fairing not moving when you are turning, but it becomes subconscience in no time. Very nimble handling too. You'll hear a lot about wind buffeting, but I think it's specific to the rider. I'm 6' 2" and never experienced any. Love mine.

Don't own a RG, but you might want to consider renting one for a day and find out how you like it. Great way to know for sure before you take the plunge!

I've had a EGC, Heritage, and two RG's....

Next HD will be RG #3, then 4, etc...

I'm ruint by the ride & handling of the RG. Now whenever I ride an EG of any flavor, I feel totally cramped by the fairing & windshield IN MY FACE.... just not right "for me"...

Having said that, it's kinda like seats, pipe, opinions, & A-holes..... One size don't fit all.

I agree on renting one. I didn't like them till I rented one and took it on a 700+ mile trip. I just bought one and think I will be very happy with it. I also like it because it is a little different. The EG is an excellent ride but I feel like I can do more miles on the Road Glide.

...... don't ....don't get the Road Glide. It's dangerous getting this comfortable way out there on that long road

Prolly the best riding and handling of all the tour models.I had the buffeting bad.Different shield may have fixed it.Have had many fixed fairing bikes and they do handle much better.hope you really enjoy what ever you choose.

it is the BEST kept secret in the HD Touring family. I had a Road King with a detachaboe fairing. I loved that bike...I now have an 09 RG and I can honestly say that although I like all the HD lineup, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Road Glide. Rent one and see for yourself...

Definitely don't take all of our happy words for it, rent one, ride it and fall in love like the rest of us...I am hooked and don't think I will ever own another one besides the RG
