The 09 and 10 are much improved over the 08 and below. You may need to dial in the right windshield. Do not waste your $ on the standard backrest, the adjustable one is really that good! I have an 09 and still have the stock seat-HD is making them better now. The suspension is very nice and one good test drive on a windy day should give you all the info you need to make your purchase. Remember-Bikes are for riding not for watching so don't get hung up on what anyone says about what it looks like. The sharknose is a winner...even Honda knows that.

Don't trust me...just try to prove me wrong.

What's wrong with ugly girls? I would not have had any fun at all in high school without them.

I'm happy with mine. When I look at the new bikes nothing makes me want to trade in my Road Glide.
If I wear this one out I'll but another RG.

Like others have said - rent one to be sure before plunking-down the $$$.

I've ridden both and I'm now hooked on my RG. Being 6'6" it's waaaaaay more spacious as I felt too cramped behind the batwing faring. Try it - I suspect you'll like it and the choice will be clear.

If you get a chance, try to get on a 09 then a 10. I'm really not sold on the SG/RG. The 09's are closer to the spirit of an RG than the 10's.

If you wanted to get the HD lowers from the ultra for the RG, the parts are available to convert the angle of the older RG's to the 10's.

I like the look, but I'd probably change the ,windshield, and longer shocks like my 08.

Just my opinion.

Having said that, it's kinda like seats, pipe, opinions, & A-holes..... One size don't fit all.
ditto above. night train, egc ,and rg. feel cramped on egc, night train not meant for cruising and hurt my butt after 150 miles. ride 500 miles per day on rg....

Talking RG's

Been ridin an RG since Jan. 02 and have 149,000+ miles on it now. Guess you could say I enjoy the way an RG rides. On the highway they are much more stable , especially around big trucks.

Default thumbs up on roadglide

went from a 1998 flht,to a 2005 fltr,to a 2009 fltrse3
the electraglide had the most comfortable seat ever. however to road glide has the best ride and handling characteristics of all.If you are able to find a leftover 2009 non california model it will come without a catalyst in the headpipe.
WARNING DO NOT RENT A ROADGLIDE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO BUY A NEW BIKE.

If you are serious about buying one, look for a leftover 09 as that is the last year of the real McCoy Road Glide. The 2010 is a redressed Street Glide and in spite of what people will tell you, yes there are distinct differences. Slapping a Road Glide fairing onto a Street Glide does not a Road Glide make. HD only did that as a cost cutting measure and they really did kill of the Roadie. I'm biased, sure but the 09 Road Glide with the 09 improvements is the one to strive for. I love mine. It's a fantastic long distance tourer, no questions asked.
