Yea LOL, it's getting fixed at the dealer, having your NEW ride die under your *** in traffic is a riot. I just expected after spending what I did on a motorcycle,I should get farther than 900 miles before having to put it on a trailer and finish my journey in a tow truck.
It could be something as simple as a loose connection at the battery that was not tightened. But I agree with you, if my new ride left my *** after a few miles I would lose a little faith in it (for a little while). Hopefully it is simple and you are back on the road.
When you say "nothing happened not a thing", are you saying the bike didn't even attempt to turn over at all or that the bike turned over and didn't start?
So was my BMW K1200 LTC with 48,000 TROUBLE FREE miles. That is, if you consider Germans mere mortals.
Anything made by man... CAN have a problem. even the BMWs.... there was a time, when they were coughing up final drive bearings....
Hopefully, what sidelined you, was a simple "opps" and easily repaired. Althought a "simple opps" would have ME wondering about what else was screwed up/missed
I hope its not too serious, where I live and ride you might really be stranded for a while.Sounds electrical to me.(my vocation). Let us know what happened.Good luck.
i had a similar problem on my 07 would die after taking off from a stop . if i disconnected the fuel line from the tank and re connect it it would fire up. a memeber on here told me to check my gas cap and see if it was venting correctly. come to find out it wasnt and subsequently the bike would stall and die because a vacuum would build up and the pump couldnt overcome that and would lose it's prime thats why when di would disconnect the fuel line and reconnect it it would start. sounds like you have a similar problem hope it gets fixed
