Congrats to the both of you.......when I first got my bike the wife tried to talk me out out of it, now she is trying to wear my tires out and wants to ride every weekend. She too has started talking of getting her own, but for now it isn't financially possible.
Good luck and enjoy the times and rides you have together!

Wow! What a great story. Not to often in life do we get to see someone to find a new passion! This will truly be a lifetime of memories for you both. Congrats on the new bike! She will surely pass her test and be a riding partner in no time! I hope you have many years of enjoyment and as others have said, a bigger bike is in the future...

Congrats to you and your wife.
My wife made the move two years ago. She took the MSF class, then we got her a used Honda Shadow 600 and she put 2300 miles on that in 8 weeks. We sold it for what we paid for it and bought her a leftover 2008 Heritage. She now has over 20k on that bike and even rode my SG to Biketoberfest once. She is a riding fool. I am considering running down to Bike Week a day early to get to the AMCA meet in Eustis and she will ride down by herself on Saturday. She also picked up the application for the Motor Maids from a friend of ours who is a member.

Her own bike
I hope you wife enjoys her Sporty! Even if she is no longer rides on the back of the Ultra you still have a riding buddy. My wife has been riding with me for many years and has no desire to ride her own bike. Just likes to sit on the back and take in the sights, sounds and smells of our rides. Hope you two have many safe and enjoyable miles tegether!
