Super glue, Gorilla Snot, etc. I use a Harbor Freight changer, but I glue chunks of inner tube in the clamps to prevent scaring of the rim. Been workin' for a lot of years, lot of bikes, & lot of rims now............

I like your wheel stop! Much better/simpler idea than most!

Looks really good, ya gonna paint it to match your table lift?? And to think you put the tire changer together while Mama was at a baby shower, sweet.

Cheap has nothing to do with it. Not everybody has deep pockets. Why not give a little credit for ingenuity.

Cheap or not, it worked great so far for demounting a tire. I'll be able to see how the mount goes after I receive my tires tomorrow. It was about $90 for the mount/demount bar and I wanted something stronger and easier than the HF tire changer, but can't afford one of the Nomar's or other good ones so I built one.

Dawg,

Thanks for the great write up and sharing your ingenuity with the rest of us 'challenged' people.

Keep us posted on how it works out for you for mounting.

Where's the fun in buying some high dollar tire changer, even if you can afford one?

Well,you got me to thinkin"...........

I just dug out and old 15X10 aluminum wheel that has a hairline crack at the valve stem and a tweaked axle with hub (now I know why I didn't pitch them!)

I think I'll drag out some leftover square tube, fire up the welder and chop saw,and see what happens

My E3's should be here tomorrow, and I'm off this weekend!

Thanks for the idea's

Hey, is that a mid 80's Nighthawk S in one of those shots?
I had a black and red one.
Perdy hot bike in the day.
