Default running lean

I AM BEING TOLD BY THE STEALER THAT MY O6 ROADKING FLHPI IS COUGHING AND STALLING BECAUSE THE THE BIKE IS RUNNING LEAN. WELL, MY ANSWER IS, FIX IT. STEALER SAYS NOTHIN THEY CAN DO. I KNOW I CAN INSTALL A PC111 BUT MY POINT IS THAT THIS IS A BRAND NEW BIKE. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR THE BIKE TO RUN RIGHT?. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? ......PS BIKE IS STOCK.

Coughing and spitting when cold is the nature of big twins, but if it does it when warmed up, tell him to fix it or contact a HD rep, or try another dealer, any will preform warranty work for you.

I'd go to another dealer, sounds like the techs are morons.

Your bike is running lean from the factory because of EPA regulations and the dealers are not alowed to change it.

That has to be one of the most ridiculous [sm=bs.gif] comments I have heard!

Question too is how badly isit coughing and stalling. My Roadglide will on occasion cough when cold and accellerating (read maybe 1 cough per cold start.) And will pop on decel all the time. I have nearly dumped the bike twice due to the sudden loss of power when it was still warming up and I was in a turn. I'm takin it in for the 25 degree injectors, but I know that the decel popping and possibly some of the coughing is due to how lean it is. Only thing to fix this now is for me to install the PCIII that came in yesterday. If the bike is outright stalling, or it coughs throughout the ride, then I would think there are greater problems, but otherwise, it is likey running lean. Check the spark plugs, if they are white, it is running too hot, and thus too lean. They should be golden brown normally as I understand. Even though you are running stock, your condition will probably benefit from having a Fuel management unit of some sort.
