Fat Baggers 3" seat drop conversion...Any done this? seen it?
saw this in a magazine. Looked like a pretty well thought out kit. Its a good chunk of change but if you think about how much $$$ you can go through with lowering the back, lowering the front, trying seat after seat....Seems like a good solution for all those who want to feel like you are more "in" the bike, rather then on it. I love my 2010 SG but coming from a history of softails, i know i have that feeling from time to time.....

I'm going to Daytona and gonna check out the Fatbaggers drop kit. Wanna sit on one and get a feel for it. I'd love to have a bagger that sits like a softail, always wanted one! I'll let ya know! I'll try to get some pics too. BTW, the neat thing about the kit is it DOESN'T change the suspension, just the seating area. Suspension stays the same, should actually ride better than one that has the lowered susp (I know the SG comes 1" lower, but some want to go even lower).

have you ever seen the kit? stubby legs is not the point of the kit... it's not about being able to stand flat footed. I'm only 5'7" and i can do that. The issue is about feeling like you are sitting more down "in the bike" rather then riding up "on the bike" the relation of your seat to your tank, to your forks, etc.....
Think about this, a Fatboy or Softail Deluxe have basically the same forks as a Touring bike, but with roughly 5 degrees more rake in the neck and a 2 -4 inch lower seat, it is a MUCH different feel.
Believe me, i have a 98 fatboy in my garage with a Corbin gunfighter seat and air ride rear suspension and i WISH my 2010 Street Glide felt like that bike does when i sit "in " it

Yeah they had quite a few of them at sturgis last year, I liked them too. As was said before probably the nicest thing about the kit is that you dont have to mod the suspension to get an altitude adjustment. I would love to do a street glide with their kit and do a progessive 2" drop in the front and an airtail in the rear...that would be one slammed bagger!
