I also just had this done on my '10 Limited. The dealer charged me 1.5 hours labor and I don't think that is too out of line. I think this is may be one mod where you can cause yourself problems unless you are pretty skilled/careful in the art and I liked the idea of it being covered under the original warranty.

 

I just spent about an hour trying to get the directional signal switch assembly out of the right cover. I wiggled and pried it for 45 minutes then put it back together. I think my skills are passable for most of these types of projects but there are so many tiny things squeezed into a small space that I've decided to let the pros do it. Like some of you said. One pinched wire renders the whole thing a disaster. I can afford an hour's labor charge. BTW, it's more than $80 around here. Thanks to all.

 

I have changed twice on my bikes takes lot patience and time take some pics so you can see how the wires were tied up bottom pieces are little harder there is a plate holding the bottom audio controls is pain to get it right.Have seen few friends end up taking to HD shop for screw ups.You can't rush it period.Take extra care when pulling audio switches there is tool a to pull em. I did this yestersday on my wifes 2006 Deluxe. Bought the Cruise control kit, and it came with black housings, she wanted chrome, so I bought them, and in about 2 hours of taking my time, I rebuilt them into the chrome, and added crome switch caps. Its not all that difficult, this is the second time I have done this modification, the first time took longer, and I used the HD chrome housings. This time, I used the Kuryakyn housings, and noticed that the instructions were MUCH better.

Just take your time..its really no big deal..

 

I just made this very same swap on my '09 FHTR. It's not hard at all, just take your time and don't lose your patience. As others said, save the labor $$ and buy more chrome!!
