Looking at an '07. Anything I should know.

Just traded my 07 Ultra in today on a new Limited. My 07 was the finest bike I've ever owned. Ran flawlessly for the 20,000+ miles I rode. No IDS. Not saying anything bad or good about IDS. Just didn't need it. Just a super bike. I'm afraid I might have traded away a better bike than I'm buying. But the Limited hooked me. As far as 07 touring bikes go. Ride it. Like it. Buy it. Hope you get one as good as mine.

07 are good bikes I really like mine and have had no real problems with it.
If you look in the archives here you will see everyone and ther brother was whining about them but I think I was just a lot of first time ****** that had no idea what they where buying.
I did put the IDS on mine only because I got one for free on a set of wheels I bought on EBAY, my bike made very little noise.

I have an '07 stock SG, except for the pipes and bling. I don't have the need for an IDS, or maybe I do and just don't know it
I think you would be fine if it doesn't have it. Also the 103 would intrigue me also. I would see if there is any paperwork, warranty on it before I would feel real comfortable.

I rode an '07 SG for almost 2 years. It was fine. I totally agree with whoever said you can search and you'll find a ton of people making a big deal about "noise"...I recall just being so annoyed at all of the whining and flippin high drama. Yeah, that straight cut gear made a little noise but certainly nothing to worry about...dang amazing how it was such a big deal to some out there. Hope all of those guys went out and got the Gold Wing they probably shold have had from the start!
Aaaanyway - What I DID have issues with was a bad rear wheel bearing...and a dealer who could't figure it out (long story I won't bore you with)....but in the end I rolled 'er into a good shop since the "whoomp whooop whooomp" sound did not go away (on a no-power coast under 30 mph)...to find a defective rear wheel bearing as I suspected. I heard of a couple others but certainly not the norm at all.
Enjoy!

My '07 never clattered like some complained about, and if I turn my head just right I MIGHT be able to hear the 5th gear noise, MAYBE...it's the nicest scoot I've ever owned and I love it. I suppose if I rode it at 55 mph in 6th gear it might clatter a little, but I have more sense than that.
