Default Custom Touring Bullet Front Turn Signal Kit for Road King Classic

Starting to work on my winter mods and I am looking at P/N 69577-06 (pg 642 in 2010 parts catelog) custom touring bullet front turn signal kit to replace the original auxiliary lamps, turn signal and towel bar I currently have on the Road King Classic.

Has anyone done this to their Road King Classic and kept the removable windshield? I can not tell from the instructions for the kit (from the Harley Web site) whether I can keep the removable windshield.

Also, I am thinking about adding the motolight lights.

I had the kit you mention, but for an EG. The guy who bought it from me (when I replaced them with Motolights) installed them on his RK Classic with the longer bolt(s) necessary to accommodate the detachable mounting hardware for the windshield.

You can probably check the pdf files' service parts list for the two versions of the kit and check to confirm that the RK kit includes (or references) longer bolts for the detachable hardware.

Good luck with your research.

I did this mod on a 2010 RKC this Winter. The windshield works fine. I used the longer bolts. The only thing that did not work was the chrome clamp that HD sells for the Clutch cable. It was too small for the braided stainless cable. I put a spacer in between the nut on the auxiliary light stem so that the nut is easier to get at for adjustment of the auxiliary lights.

Does anyone have pics of doing this mod on their RKC? I have also bought the motolights (50 watts) to go on the calipers.

Did you do this mod? Do you have pictures? I want to do the same thing to my 09, but am not sure what the finished product looks like....

I did this mod to my RKC even before the bike hit the road (I bought it in January.). The only downside I found was that you can't use the wind deflectors that mount on the sides of the forks. I was getting some severe buffeting so I had to make my own wind deflectors.
