Default Saddlebag Protectors

Last year I saw Street Glide with what appeared to be aluminum plates the size of a business card attached the bottom of the saddlebags, on the rear outside corners, to protect the bottom of the bag in case a fall. They looked to be attached with double stick tape. Does anyone now where you can purchase these? Thanks!

The SE models with the bag extensions have those things on the bottom corners. I'm sure they have a HD part number.

I think he is talking about skid plates. These probably won't help if you fall or drop your bike. These are installed on extended bags just in case you get too low in a turn and they scrape the ground. You hit the plates instead of your freshly painted bags. You can get them from Bad Dad, Top Shop, and other places that sell extended bags. I would suggest you not use sticky tape but a rivet gun or botls.

The plates are there to protect the bottom of stretched saddle bags due to reduced ground clearance. They will drag in turns depending on the amount of stretch and aggressiveness of the rider.

LOL Sorry, Manish beat me to it!

I see said the blind man.

I have the Kuryakyn lights (under the saddlebag) that have a chrome plate running the length of the saddle bag...you can kinda see em in my sig pic.

Don't know if they would fit non-extended bags.

listed as service parts in Saddlebag Extension Kit 90999-09

Saddlebag wear strip, left side
88335-09

Saddlebag wear strip, right side
88336-09

Hum.. I've got some diamond plate laying around somewhere.
