Default Silly Question on '10 RG Odo / A-B Trip Mileage Reset Button

I just looked over every page of my owner's manual and cannot find anything on the reset A/B Trip and odometer button. I know I can cycle through the odometer, Trip A, and Trip B and hold the button to reset the mileage on either A or B.

But when cycling through the displays with the reset button, there's also a display with a lower case r with an apparent mileage reading to its right. If I press and hold the reset button on this display, it will flash once. It doesn't appear to reset or change.

Can anyone explain?

Thanks in advance!

I think that has to do with the fuel mileage to empty. Seems like I've read that somewhere.

That's suppose to be "reserve" "miles to empty" reading and yes it resets itself after a few miles.
But hey, I guess somebody already said all that. Damn.

The little "r" actually stands for "Range".

It is approximate, but pretty damned accurate. When you've got less than 10 miles remaining it just says "LOW"

When the idiot light on the dash comes on, your odometer also switches automatically to the range display regardless of where you had it - just in case the amber light wasn't enough to tell you to get gas. I think the amber light on the speedometer starts blinking when you hit <10 miles remaining on the reserve as well.

So - in short - if you end up having to push it, its your own fault

You bike has a popup feature, what it does is when your low fuel light comes on your odometer will show you how many miles too empty. you can shut that feature off by holding the button in when the r is displayed it will blink once to turn the feature on and twicw to turn the feature off

Just be thankful that they still don't have peddles like the 1903 models. I'll take the gas light and r numbers anyday..............
