Dan have you removed this yet or will you let others do it?

I had a footboard bolt head snap off on my 96 softail and it was a bashtid to remove, partially due to poor access.

Welding through the center of an oversize nut onto the remaining stud end was the only way I could remove it.

Or it could be the "Cheap As Chinese Bolt Manufacturing Company" in Zhangdong wherever using substandard steel .....
