He had a family emergency and left for a bit. He's back now. I replaced my bolts when I put on soos' passenger extensions and they haven't been an issue at all for me.

Mine just snapped off. The bolt is still in the threads.

Had one break on a 02 while washing the bike, so far my 07 is still there.

She would fall down, at least that's what my wife did. Oh and she weighs 119 lbs. The bolt sheared off with half left of it in the hole. After examining the bolt it was obvious that the bolt was over stress when it was installed. A small crack that continued to grow over 2 years through fatigue. It was holding on by a thread when she stepped on it. I wouldn't over tighten these bolts or you will be back with the same problem, use the recommended torque in the manual and blue locktite.

I have heard of this happening and replaced the
factory HD bolts (even though they were supposedly
grade 8 bolts) with some other grade 8 that I got
locally., let us know how it turns out.
