Just got mine from the stealer, we are taking a 14 day trip from Nebraska down through Missouri, Tenn, and up to Virginia (dragon's tail). Opted for the King Tour Pak. Will only use it when traveling, Don't know yet if it was worth the $$$$$$

I put one on my 06 SG. Found it on ebay for $500. Also purchased speaker pods, wiring kit and had dealer reprogram the radio to a 4way. Looks good, more storage and the rear speaker make a huge difference jamn down the road.

Check out my buddy, Paul's SG. He goes by TexasBowhunter here on the forum. He added the TP to his pewter SG with the airfoil LED's...looks really sharp!

I love the king tour-pak on my 09 SG. On the cooler days it's great to put your jacket in the tour-pak and lock it up while you're parked. No more carrying around jackets or helmets.

Once you get one, you won't know how you lived without it...

Just went through the same decision process myself. Ended up going with the Chopped TP. My wife won't ride, so I only ride solo. I thought about what all i'd be taking with me on a weekend trip (tent, sleeping bag, clothes, etc). Being that I still have to get a tent, they make plenty of solo or two person tents that stuff down to a size that will easily fit in a chopped tp.

I personally liked the look of the chopped tp and wasn't a fan of the wrap-around backrest for the King TP. If I was ridin 2-up, the king would have probably made sense and the OL would probably appreciate the bigger backrest for the King. But being that wasn't in the equation, it made my decision easier.

Here's a pic I took after I installed it. Ended up getting everything at once through LakeShore when they had a 20% off sale w/ free shipping (although there was a slight upcharge for the TP shipping). Had everything on my doorstep within 2 1/2 weeks.

I put a detachable (king) T/P on my '06.(see sig pic)
There it stays. I love the extra room and easy access.
On long trips I have a Nelson Rigg GW 1000
I mount on the tour pack rack.

Have both chopped & king w/ luggage rack only ever use the king for longer trips. It's surprising how much "stuff" fits in a chopped & saddle bags! The bad thing about T-Bag type luggage is the security issues. I have a T-Bag that goes on the king pak rack, usually only used when we go to rally's or events so we have room for the "stuff" we buy there, but dont feel safe if we see a nice place to take a little walk on the beach, a hike or.....whatever ! Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Go with the King TP, no question. I guarantee you won't regret it.

I use a Tbag now, it works great. But I'm thinking of the same upgrade.
