I have only ridden my 2010 ultra 500 miles in cool weather. I traded in an 07 ultra for the 2010. I could definetly feel the difference as far as heat. The 2010 did run good right off the showroom floor. The CAT is gone on mine!

I have one on my 2010 Road Glide Custom. It doesn't bother me any. I changed the muffler to a D&D with the baffle removed completely, and the sound is very good, with the CAT acting as a baffle.
I don't think the cat makes much of a difference personally. I changed out a head pipe on my buddy's bike to a non-cat, and it ran no different. Sound levels increased, but the heat seemed the same. Maybe a cat gets heat-soaked on a dyno and has a negative impact on performance, but on the road they work just fine. Don't believe all the negative things you read on the forums.
Cant answer the question but, I'm picking up a 2010 EG Classic Friday. Told the dealer to have the Rinehart tru duals installed by the time I get there,
I'm getting ready to buy a Jackpot muffler, PCV, and stage 1 A/C setup from Jamie at Fuel Moto. I'll ride the stock header with cat and see if it's worth changing headers. I have a friend that builds race cars who is a talented welder. He cut out another friend's cat. I'll decide my approach after Jamie sets me up.
Couldn't wait to get rid of it on mine, way too hot on the right ankle when stopped. Headpipe and other goodies from Fuel moto and bike is cooler, runs better, sounds better.
Take a look at the color of the pipes around the cat, the heat is significant.
