Default Revisiting the Reverse Gear for Touring Bikes

I just got an Ultra limited. Love the bike, but being short, in spite of putting the Reach Seat on the bike I have some issues with backing the bike up-- mostly due to the passenger floor boards. I also ride a Gold Wing and love the reverse. So, I was considering looking into putting reverse on the Ultra. Could any one explain the different kits to me and any experiences you've had with different manufacturers? I have read that some kits may cause you lot 'lock up' between reverse and 1st gear. That doesn't sound like a good thing!

Also wondering about the Baker reverse kit. I went to the website and it doesn't look like they have a model for the '09's yet.

There last thing I would ask is what effect it has on warantee? I'm assuming it may void it? Or does harley make a kit that is compatable with the warantee? Thanks for any and all comments.

Check the new HD P&A Book, they should list it if they sell one. The HD tri-glide has reverse.

Huh

Back to the subject on hand. There are several makers of a reverse for the 6 speed. I have entertained 1 for some time now. I am short also. The tri glide has a electric reverse where the after markets are gear operated.

ttt take the post back up to the top otherwise it gets buried and won't get answered.

Normally the forum speak for this is "Bump" :-)

The Tri-Glide's electric reverse seems to be something they add to the
rear differential - so that is not applicable to your two wheeler ;-)

Just ignore the trolls ;-)
