The headlamp is not a sealed beam, it's just a plug in bulb. Lots of folk on here have went the silverstar route.

A phillips screw driver is all that is needed. Just pay attention to how the spring holds down the bulb. I have the PIAA Extreme White Plus bulb.

I replaced stock with Silverstar H4ST. Disassembly is easy, all from lens side, But once you pull the trim ring be sure to hang on to the lens. Watch closely how the old bulb is fitted as you pull it, and do not touch the new bulb with bare skin. The oils will blow it prematurely. Found a significant brightness with this bulb.

I bought a drag specialities whiter brighter lamp....it lasted about 3 months, Whiter brighter means its going to run hotter at the filiment. Buy two of whatever you decide. I WILL go back to a hotter lamp, the added light is well worth it....even if its a monthly replacement, lol.

I actually find it easier to pull the outer faring to change the bulb. I have never figured out the trick with the wire keeper on the top of the trim ring. I believe they are still an H4 bulb and if so they come out the back of the reflector.

It's a 10 minute job with a phillips screw driver. I just did mine last week. I had a spare stock bulb. The spring will pop out on you most likely but it goes right at the top.
