Default 06 Street Glides are Classics

With the new 96 motors and the six speed transmission in the 07's the bikes the 06 SG will be a classic. It will be the only year of that model with a 88 and a five speed transmission. So if you have an 06 SG hold on to this baby.

Gmac I have to find some silver lining in this whole thing. I feel better already. Actually I love my TC88 5 speed. I also love the fact that the Deep Cobalt Blue is not available for 07'. When I get my 21" front wheel and 18" out back I think I will love it even more.

I'm really glad that I have the 06 also. I saw the 07 sat and wasn't impressed with the sensor or what ever it was sticking out of the cross over pipe. The only reason I think the engine is bigger is to make up for all the emmission bull. It would be nice to have a 6 speed but I have done with out my whole life and got along fine

GLYDN, Steve

Mine is even more rare. First and last year of a Street Glide with the 88" and a carb.

No offense, I don't think the first and last SG 5 speed and 88 is all that significant. I mean is the last year EVO with that jacked up EFI system a big deal?

BUT the fact that the 06 SG being the FIRST year SG is a big deal and thats pretty cool. I may get one after some dude dumps his for an 07.

On a related note:

The thing about the 07's is, once the warranty expires people will hop them up just like the 06's with probably better results.

Everyone's got to get off this "IT'LL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!" stuff. After the warranty is up... nothing stopping you then. It's only like 2 years.

Love your bike BTW...

Who cares?

Like may have said, there are a lot of 88's and 95's that will out perform with a little work. Yes, I think a 96 " motor is cool, but II bought a touring bike, not a drag bike!
