RE: RK Handlebar Recommendations?
Jr Dick, I am looking at the heritage bars for my RK also, want more height but less pullback than the stock. I am going to do it myself as long as no cable changes are required. The dealers won't give me a straight answer as about the cables. They keep saying they are not sure whether they fit or not without cable changes. Any pointers or suggestions before I buy em?
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: RK Handlebar Recommendations?
My dealer's service guys are pretty good, and they say the same thing. With the Heritage bars you just BARELY don't need new cables. They say the stock cables are at their limits with those bars. So it actually makes it pretty easy to know if you'll need new cables when shopping for handlebars: if the bars you're looking at are longer than Heritage bars, you need new cables.
I finally decided to go with Flander's Heritage style bars. They have 3/4 inch more height and 2 inches more pullback than the stock Heritage bars (which equates to, what....18 inches more height and 30 feet more pullback than the stock Road King bar?[8D]) It meant new cables for me, but good God these bars are comfortable. I can ride sitting up straight, not leaned over the tank like I was with the stock bars.
