I am looking to get rid of my police seat and associated plumbing and replace it with a "normal" 2-up seat. I have been looking around online and it looks like I can use 2000-2007 seats from an electra glide or ultra classic? Can I use 08-10 seats? Can I use a road king 2 piece seat?

 

You should be able to use any touring seat from 1997-2007. In 08 through 10 they changed the mounting system. Yes you could use a road king 2 piece.

 

Thanks. Will the 97-07's just drop on? I know that I will need to add a rear bolt and nut but will the front part of the seat hook in to something?

 

The Road King seat has a shorter nose, to fit the longer dash on the RK. You could use one, but you'd have to use a dash filler panel.

I took off the air ride seat from my RK police last summer. It was a comfortable seat, but just too ugly. It also sits too close to the tank. If your air ride seat is all there, and in good condition, you can sell it on ebay to offset the cost of your new seat. I wound up with a new Corbin solo for my bike for about 75 dollars net cost.

The front part of the seat has a tab that slots into the frame on your bike.

I had an 05 electra glide police an at 5'8" that stock seat had to go! I had a corbin solo an a stock HD touring seat. the stock seat I had was very comfortable an cheap off craigslist.


I don't know what this seat came off of but I liked it.

If you find a short nose seat there's a black plastic filler you can get cheap off ebay.
