Default Solo tour pak and Corbin solo seat

I've read a lot about the detachable solo tour pak and adjusting the pak back to fit the rider better. Brackets like the one made by George Anderson look like they will do the job. I've also seen how a tour pak set up for solo riding can be modified to make room for a solo seat back rest for better lower back support. I have not been able to find any posting of some one who is using a Corbin Classic Solo seat with the solo tour pak mounting rack. Does anyone know if the solo tour pak mounting bracket will fit with this seat?

I would think which solo seat wouldn't matter. The seat and tp mounts how they mount. If you need the tp moved back a bit, just get the GA tp relocator.

The Corbin website says that the HD solo detach rack will not work with the Corbin Classic solo on '08 and older Touring models; and, Corbin is correct. However, the solo rack can be modified to make it work as shown in this picture. A buddy used a cut-off wheel to remove the material:

This is an aftermarket tour pak, however, the problem is the same regarding the front of the solo rack, not the tour pak. The portion of the rack removed is what contacts the rear of the seat preventing the rack from being positioned far enough forward to engage the forward mounting bushings.

Good luck with your research.

Carl,
That is what I need to know. Many thanks! I would guess the same answer would apply to an 07. I would use the Anderson plate to attach to the bracket to set the pak farther towards the rear and use my Corbin back rest. I think that would work.

If you check HD's fitment information at HD's website or in the paper catalog, you'll find the '07 uses the same mounting hardware and solo rack that I have on my '04.

I've thought about adding a brace using the rack's forward mounting holes, but I've taken two 850 mile round trips with the modified rack and it shows no signs of stress, so I'll leave it alone.

You do realize that having received assistance you MUST post pictures of your modification and tour pak installation.

I'm glad you pointed that out.

I am very interested in this. I have a Corbin Solo Close with a back rest too and wanted to put a King Tour on in the solo position until I read the Corbin site."No can do."
I now have it on in the 2-up position.Would like to change.

I will be ordering the solo set up and get the photos posted as soon as I make the mods and put it together.
