Default Thoughts on 103" kit

Need your advice I have a 2008 SG with andrews 50HG gear drive cams, johnson lifters and S&S ADJUSTABLE push rods, reinhart pipes and a SE INTAKE,I want to install a 103 kit and leave my heads stock. The cams say they handle up to 103 with 9.8 CR on stock heads,My question is most of the kits are 10.1 CR is that ok and will these cams make the valves hit the pistons. They have .510 lift. I dont want to change cams or have head work just looking for a little more torque and bragging rights of a 103. also what set of cylinders and are james gaskets ok

Nice look'n scoot!

You'll have no P to V clearance issues with a .510 lift cam, especially with stock valve size. No worries there. I'm not very familiar with the 50, but it would likely be just fine @ 10:1, with a simple big more kit. Be SURE to have it PROPERLY tuned & you'll be A-Ok.

I'd just have your stock jugs bored to match your 103 pistons. James gaskets are ok. I prefer the MoCo topend gasket kit, which can be had for about $70 if ya shop around.

Thanks for the info,I might have my cylinders machined to 103,The cams work great the only thing is they dont come to life till 2600 RPM but if your tearing around or passing someone your RPMS are there anyway. which pistons would you prefer weisco-KB OR????
