That is true. It has been band for use on aircraft. Simple Green has an aviation safe formula but it is hard to find. I understand you can buy it at FBOs. I do use the regular Simple Green occasionally on the undercarriage but I rinse very well after. I would not use it at all on painted surfaces. Antique toy restorers soak toys in it to gently strip paint.

You can find the aviation version of Simple Green at Grainger. p/n 6WB63. They make a gallon size too.

Default WD40 has acetone in it

Use to use it myself for winterizing marine engines sprayed the whole motor. The problem is it is real bad for rubber and wires makes the wire covering brittle and eats rubber pretty fast try wiping it off something rubber after you spray it. All black goo thats the rubber. Bet it doesn't do the plastic any good either. About the only thing i use wd40 for now is taking adhesive from bumper stickers off and slowing down rust on some metal things. Acetone is very strong and melts some plastics.

'Honda Brite' is S100 (Says so right on the bottle) It's half the cost of S100.

I've been using this stuff since 1990 when their bikini girls detailed my bike 'cause it was so dirty THEY couldn't stand to see it.
Works pretty durned good. (But it is expensive!)

It messed the aluminum up on my dads 07 Ultra. Streaked it and turned it white. He let it set on there about 3 mins washed it off and when it dried he was sick.

Brake cleaner will break down paint and can cause damage to plastics.

I use Dawn dish washer liquid diluted in a spray bottle and rinse real good afterwards.
