I have, STILL, an 05 nightrain, and just bought a 2009 Street Glide (ABS, Security, Cruise) with around 3K miles for less than you are mentioning, with a full warranty until next year. Just my .02 cents, good luck...

Spent a little time yesterday on e-bay looking at used bikes, there are some deals if you have the patience and time. There are some 09-10 bikes for $13-14K+- with very little miles. This is a lot better than the $20K+ you will end up getting from a dealer.

I agree with many of the other posters, lot of good deals on lightly used bikes...IF you want new then get it, I wanted a new bike when I got mine.

If you did find a smokin deal on a SG, EGC or UC, you can always strip down a EGC or UC into a Glide for around town and Snap the tourpak back on when you take the wife on a longer ride or trip.

Lot of bikes out there, the buyer bought a bike, chromed it out, and bought a wardrobe, now they sell the bike, and all that "stuff" was rolled into the deal

There ARE good deals out there.... and you should get most of the factory warranty... but ask before buying...

The FLHT, standard electra glide is the best deal going. Dropped from the 2010 line but there are some new 2009s still sitting in show rooms and deals can be made. IMHO, for two up touring, the FLHT is more comfortable, particulalry for the passenger, than the FLHX. My old '02 FLHT has had a few cosmetic changes and can pass for an FLHX from a distance. I could go on but if you are looking for a deal, look for a late model used '07-'09 or showroom new '09 FLHT.

I've got a Night Train and a Limited. It's a great combination. As others have said, I'd skip the Street Glide and get an Ultra. It'll ride better and hold more stuff. I'd also get an '09 or a '10. The new frame is worth it.

IF you can find a '09 Ultra at a dealership, they are probably willing to deal. Almost did that when I bought my Limited in December.
