Chopped TP in solo position with GA relocator kit **PICS**
OK, so I got conflicting stories on whether this relocator kit would work with an '09 chopped TP in the solo position. Actually, only one person said it didn't work. Well, IT DOES work. I took plenty of pics to show the actual plate and how it fits the chopped TP.
First off, here is the bottom of the chopped TP. '09 if it matters.
Here is the GA relocator plate.
Here are the profile shots. This is what I couldn't see in any of the pics.
One other shot.
The other side in completely flat so I won't post pics of it.
And here is the relocator installed on the bike.
I need to go to my local hardware store to get some longer bolts. Nothing I had was long enough to tighten the chopped TP to the relocator. As you can see, the plate is bolted down to the solo TP rack and I have the other bolts installed in the 1.5" position. This seats the TP perfectly for my riding. The bolts to tighten the TP to the plate are threaded in the plate itself so no need for nuts. The spacer that came with the TP still needs to be installed between the TP and the relocator plate, the two foward bolts.
This relocator fit like a glove. I have no idea why it wouldn't work for that other member. I hope these pics help you with your problem. I'll make sure to take better pics in the sun tomorrow.
