works fine I do it on my SG. If you have any electrical ability you can buy the parts at radio shack and make a short connector to fit exactly, I did.

Just a thought, had a Ipod Shuffle, smaller than a Nano attached with velcro, rideing thru Albuquerque and its like 95 degrees, I hear "dink", velcro falls off and Shuffle gone, go with a Ram Mount.

No pictures of it, but I will try to take some in the next day or so. I have 30,000 miles on my bike and have had my IPod there the whole time. Two different Nano's and a shuffle.

Here is the one I bought for my SG... I had my Nano Gen 2 on it and it was perfect... they now make a belt clip (belt clip case on ebay approx $7) that works on this mount with the gen 5 also... I do throw a small rubber band around it with the gen 5 just for a little extra support because the belt clip isnt as tight as my old gen 2.

JGREG, it works great. I have had it on since '07 with no problems. I put my Nano inside the fairing attached with Velcro. I put it inside one of the protective plastic cases. The Drive and Play cable is plenty long enough to run to a Tour Pack or side bag if you wanted. I like it because I can change playlists, songs, etc without taking my eyes off the road. For me it was a clean install. I painted the little screen black to blend in on the fairing.
Sorry, yes it charges. Turns on and off with the Drive and Play so you do not have to touch the ipod. I powered the system to the acc. switch.

Default Drive and Play

The control mount and display screen mount are screwed to the fairing and sealed with silicon sealant. The cable for the control passes through the base itself so it is concealed. The screen cable has to have a separate hole drilled to pass through the fairing. I mounted the contol unit on top of the Radio with UHB tape. It is very light so it will not shake loose.
