Default Gotta vent! I'm so furstrated my head is about to explode!

I picked up a 2010 Merlot Sunglo/Cherry Red Sunglo Ultra on January 13th after owning a 2005 Sportster 1200 Custom for 5 years. Coming from a Sportster, you can guess what I thought of the way the Ultra rides. I love my Ultra and put 635 miles in three days and plan on putting a great deal of miles this year. Now, here is where my happy a$$ is getting frustrated. When I did the deed, I had the Harley shop put on a Tour Pak Luggage Rack. In the excitement of getting a new bike, I didn’t notice till a couple of days later that they put the Luggage Rack on crooked. Brought the bike in on Friday the 22nd to talk to the Service Manager and get him to tell me how there were going to make it right. He told me that they would have to take the rack off, plug the holes and get his painter (off-site) to repaint the Tour Pak lid and then put the rack on correctly He said that it would take about a week. Being that I wanted to keep the bike at home to go through the manual and learn about the bike a bit, I myself took the lid off and brought it to him the next day, Saturday the 23rd. I went in Thursday the 28th to see if by chance it was ready and was told that the painter had only picked it up THAT morning. I was told that it would be ready Wednesday, February 3rd (today) and they would call me when it came in. Guess what, NO CALL. Now, as of tomorrow, I will have owned my bike 22 day and of those 22 days, they have had my Tour Pak lid 12 days. Had plenty of opportunities to ride but didn’t want to put Saran Wrap or Aluminum Foil on my Tour Pak to do so. This is a really great dealership, and for the most part, they really do treat you like family, but I’m really getting frustrated and how long this is taking, especially when I’m not the one that caused the problem. Just needed to vent and thanks for listening.

yep, that sucks. Do more work yourself. Then you only have yourself to blame.

That sucks but I think most HD owners do have a beef with their dealership at least once.

1st, congrats on your new Hog! Yeah, they got you.. Nag them some more and voice how you're inconvenienced and maybe you might get something on the house.!!

Plug the holes and re mount the rack?

And this was OK with you?

You're a lot kinder than I am.

I would have told them to order me a new lid and if they didn't.... to go F themselves and given the bike back.

That's just chicken $h!t on the dealers part.

Sorry but that's my opinion.

I would think that they should have just ordered you a new tour pack lid since the bike was new. I would not want a lid with patched holes in it and would insist they make it right. You have a right to be pissed!

They should have replaced the lid.
