Been on this forum awhile. I don't get your reply?? I see a lot on here buy the Sears jacks. I've heard not so good things about them. In fact there is a post above mine where he's went through two of them. Shoooot I'd have to be from some Po-Dunk town in Looziana before I'd buy a Sears jack even for what I'm wanting it for.
Don't worry, that Harbor Freight jack will look just as nice in the trailer park in Missouri.

Without reading all the replies, I'll give you my opinion on the HF jack...
I've had it since November 2008. I use it several times a month for general maintenance (checking air pressure, inspecting tires, changing tires, washing, etc). It has not failed me yet, and doesn't apprear that it will any time soon either. It is pretty stable. I have never felt the need to secure my bike with tie-downs. The only issue that I had was that the release lever allowed the bike to come down way too fast. But I fixed that by installing a bolt in the lever that limits the downward travel. It now lowers nice and slow.
Granted, I've never had a different jack, so I can't compare it to any others. But for the $70 that I paid, I feel it was money well spent. True, I could have spent more money for a better jack, but this one does everything that I want it to do.
