What is the ideal size enclosed trailer? IS 6x12 a good size trailer for two bikes if I ever need to haul two at one time? (Say both dressers?)
Just wondering what you all have, (Those of you who ever trailer your bikes anyway) LOL
The 12' is fine you might need a 7' wide for two dressers, I'm sure someone with one will chime in. Mine is a 6x10 and it would be tight to get 2 non dresser bikes side by side in it.
I agree with the 7 x 14. You can get by just fine with a 7 x 12 as far as fitting in two baggers, but I prefer it being a little bigger just to have room for excess baggage etc...Definitely wouldn't try it with a 6 foot width though.
Might as well get a 7x14 as you need tandem axles (and brakes) for that much weight. Most single axles are rated for 2990lbs gross, and you'd be very close to that with two baggers.
FWIW I have a 6x12 with electric brakes and have hauled 2 baggers to Bike Week and Outer Banks several times without any troubles. Bikes are staggered to get the right weight balance on the hitch. It is tight and the bikes have to be tied in well, but it can be done.
