Default Changing Handle Bars Question

I have changed grips on bars but never put a new set of bars on. Can I reuse the grips or do I need new ones? My guess is I can't as I will destroy them getting them off but I thought I would ask.

Take something slim, like an ice pick or a thin screwdriver and slip it under the grip to open it up some, then spray some w-d 40 in there and keep working your pick around breaking the glue loose, it'll come right off. You'll need some grip lock to glue the grips back on with, after you use lacquer thinner to get the w-d 40 cleaned off. Stafford

Depends. The newer grips dont require gluing on like the old ones. Depends on which ones you have!!

You may loose the left one. I was able to take the bar off and place the left grip in the kitchen sink with hot water and kept applying pressure in a twisting motion. It finally broke loose. The right side is no problem.

Depending on how much stick-um was used, you may be able to just grab a firm hold and twist the grip loose. I did on my original grips.

I Used a Blow Dryer, got em good & hot, Then I used a needle tube on an air line, off the compressor, and forced air under the grips. Came off FAST! no problems!

It looks like you already have some chrome grips on your bike. I doubt if there is any glue and should not be. The answer is, "No, you will not need to damage your current grips when you remove them."
