I understand 2009 Ultra Classic factory radio is satellite radio ready. Meaning I assume, there is a module that must be installed. Has anyone here installed a satellite module in your own Ultra Classic?

You are correct, the radio is XM ready. You have to purchase the XM kit, antenna bracket, wiring harness from HD. It is a piece of cake to install and makes a nice job. It's a little pricey but it works great with the HD radio. I installed it on my 09 Ultra and I really like it. You can find it in the HD catalog.

Thanks. I was hoping someone would say that it is an easy install. I guess XM and Sirius are both together now huh?

I put the module in my 09 FLHTC, you only have to remove outer fairing an the pigtail is already there. I think I got like 3 months of XM free with the purchase so buy it in the spring when your gonna be riding.

Question: I have an 05 Ultra, will the newer radio that is XM ready fit into an 05

Don`t want to have an extra clipped on accessory, but if I can get XM built into my radio it would make a nice accessory - otherwise I guess I stick with my iPod and the cable.

If you have the HK radio the XM module just attaches to the top of the radio.

I recieved my renewal notice Friday for XM service and they are charging a Royalty fee in addition to the regular fee. Just another way to screw you. I called and threatened to cancel service and they took it off my bill. Just to let everyone know that they will work with you if you argue with them.
