Backrest Help.. Too Far Forward... Modification?
I bought a backrest for my 09 SG and istalled it today. I installed the bracket as far back as it would go still allowing me to insert it through the slot in the seat.
I thought I read previous posts about people doing modifications but I couldnt find anything using the search.
I thought of heating up the 2 round bars and putting a slight bend in them to give me a little room.
Any other suggestions or advice would be helpful!

I complained of mine on my 08 Ultra, not so much too far forwards as wrong angle. Seems like it needs to be reclined at the top just a bit. I think 1/4-1/2 inch of reclining would make a huge difference. Never have made time to bend it yet, but still thinkin about it. Guess I kinda got used to it the way it is.

I was really hoping someone would have modified one by now and would be able to share!
I bit the bullet and installed it to help out my back even though I think its ugly.
I know they make the adjustable one but I couldnt afford that right now.
Im a bigger guy, 6'2" 240lb and it pushes me forward into the tank.
I think heating it and bending it would help give me that extra 1" im looking for?

I put mine in a vice and heated the two rods and just pulled back until I felt it move a little bit. Let it cool and it was perfect. Might have to do it a couple times to get it to suit you. I got lucky. BTW, remove the spring between the rods before you heat them. It will ruin the spring if you leave it in......don't ask
