Years ago, Harley had junk batteries. They didn't last over one year. I tried different places and brands. I ended up and purchased replacement batteries from Walmart. Worked twice as long as the Harley ones and cost a lot less.

Now Harley has improved their batteries. But if i was in a hurry, or in a cash squeeze, I would run down to Walmart in a flash.

I've decided to check WalMart tomorrow. When I searched the web I found that Deka makes batteries for WalMart, I just need to see if they have the one for my bike.

Best price I could find were these folks. 99.00 shipped to my door, great service, shipped same day I ordered. DEKA makes the HD OEM batteries.

Most Walmart batteries are made by NeverStart.

anybody else notice something odd here?

my walmart does sell motorcycle batteries, and for considerably less than hd oem. BUT, they are traditional lead acid batteries, whereas the hd oem is an agm battery.

Default Kodiak Batteries

If you are looking for the best battery money can buy...buy a kodiak. Without getting too long winded, I'll explain a bit. In my old life (before retirement in 2005), I was an Army Maintenance Warrant Officer. Many army weapons systems are VERY demanding of battery power. And no battery performs better (to include cold cranking amps, reserve power, and storage life) than what's known as an electrolyte starved cell battery. These batteries are used in the hawker missile system, and I'm also told (don't know 1st hand) for starting fighter jets. It has a 10 year (NOT pro-rated) warranty. They list a battery on the web site for Harley as well. If you buy from the web site you'll deal with a guy named Yawan. Tell him chief Glass sent ya.

If yer Ford or Chevy battery dies, do you go to the dealer to replace it?

I guess if yer nuts you do.

You think HD manufactures their batteries?

They do put a cute HD label on it though, then jack the price.....same with HD tenders.

Odyssey Battery here, do some research.....best out there IMHO....
