Default Is the Limited worth the extra $$$ ?

I'm planning my purchase of the Ultra Classic for next year. As I'm going to pay as much cash up front as I can, I'm trying to decide if the extra cost of the Limited is really worth it.

Other than the 103" motor, the other features are not "gotta haves".
I am under the impression I can make the standard 96" close to or better than the stock 103".

Any thoughts ?

Your choice. I have a Ltd cumming in April. I weighed the odds of punching out a stock 96" to 103" (which , depending on whats done, will be a lot more powerful than a stock 103" LTD as 96" cams are used in the 103).but decided instead for the LTD. and going with Andrews 54 cams

I'd say you can build anything up the way you want. I started with the RK and now its a King Glide if u know what I mean. I haven't went into the motor YET but its coming. If you can save the extra dough then yes get the limited but if not you can build it at ur own pace, it mayb cheaper to build it up if u shop in the right places.

I think you're the only one who can make that decision.

IMHO if you really like the colors and wheels and other goodies it's worth it.
The motor alone is no biggy. You are correct a stage 1 96" will easily be equal to a bone stock 103". Add cams to the 96" and it's no contest.

I agree. I bought a limited for a couple of reasons: ABS standard, heated grips, luggage rack and the wheels. When you add those to the engine, PLUS the fact that there's not as many of them on the road, it just made sense to me.

You can put more pride in something you build
than in something you buy, so I would have to vote
for the standard built up stronger than the limited
IMO

Sure does seem to be a lot of people on here with them... personally I dont see the extra $$ in them, kind of like a cvo vs standard to me. I can build it how I WANT and not have the limitations of the moco parts

with that being said, they look nice and have plenty of potential.

Its all up to YOU

I personally cant see spending the money to go to the Limited. I couldn't see spending the money to go to the Ultra. I bought a 2010 Classic. If you are doing it for the motor alone and dont care about the other goodies then it's definitely not worth it. For $700 to $800 or so you can get the stage 1 kit from Fuel Moto and that 96" motor will run better than the stock 103 and you saved yourself a whole bunch of money.

Like the man said, you are the only one to answer that question. If you sit the two bikes side by side, The ultra limited stands out a bunch. Lot of stuff for the extra money. It also comes with an oil cooler. I almost pulled the trigger and bought one. I think the Ultra is a lot nicer bike than the standard. Other than AF and Pipes, I like to leave one stock.
