There is a Big Bore kit that takes the 96 to a 103. You are right about the upgrade price for the 110 but you can get a 103 also for about $1000

I talk to several dealerships about this and they all stated you can't do High air flow kits on the bike it would void the warranty.

Picked up an 07 Ultra today. Dealer is throwing in the 103ci kit. Said it was $800.00 and he wouldn't charge labor. Waiting to see price difference on the 110ci kit as I may pay the difference. But not if it's $1500.00. I'll take the 103 and be happy.....Tim

There are two 103 kits, a stage 1 for around $700, that is just cylinders and pistons, and associated bits, and a stage 2 that also has cams, that is around $1100. These are both for the 07s.

Oh hell...for a thousand bucks, I'd go with the 103 kit. You couldn't touch a comparable SE model for anywhere close to the price of an upgrade. Looks like there will be several 103's running around for that price.
