Default Police seat compatibility

Hey, folks: can a kind soul tell me if the Road King police seats fit just as well on an Electra Glide model (2009/2010)? The dealer that is ready to sell me a take off said yes, but it seems that I've heard that due to a tank console difference that no, it won't work. Looking to hear from some experience here.

Thanks! Fitz

Just try it! Unless the dealer is miles and miles away.

The Road King and Electraglide both take the same seat. When MOCO went with the 6 Gal. tank, they did not change the police seat. The seat still works fine, but it no longer flips up on the front hinge because the tank gets in the way.

If the Road King is the same year as the EG, it will fit with no problem. If the seat is from an earlier year, you may need to get different T-bar, seat fairing and nose piece, and mounting hinge. These parts changed when the frame was changed. I put a police seat from a 2009 on my 2005 and had to change these pieces out.

My dad is 6' 2" and really can't bend like he use to be able to. He put that seat on his 01 FLHT and loves it. Good luck.

Thanks, coolhands. Do ya know if your ol' dad had to put a taller windshield on? Like your dad, I'm gettin' to that point of having to come up with something so I can keep going. I'm really lookin' forward to it.

BTW, nice ride.

We are all getting older, as I turn 60 this year. Love the police seat on my EGS. I am using the 10" Clearview windshield to kick the wind up. I am now in the process of building a backrest for the police seat. Mocking it up using aluminum bar right now. I like a backrest when I ride!
