I use a pair of vise grips on the spring to stretch it onto the stand.

Just curious, did you have a reason to remove it or did something happen?

Mine got stretched from hitting a speed hump in a parking lot, When i bought the new one the parts guy told me to loosen the mount for the side stand and put the spring on that way. He said stretching it to get it on without loosening the stand could damage the spring.

Handful of pennies............Bend the spring over and put a pennyor two between each coil. In the end, it will be long enough to fit. Lower the kickstand and the pennies will fall out.

If the Jiffy Stand is in the UP postition, the spring goes on with less effort. Put the one end ot the spring in the frame first, then pull the other end into the Jiffy stand using a screwdriver in the spring eyelet.

Rotate the stand forward and it goes on.
