I've had 4 Harleys with CB radios. Never used a single one of them, even once.

I use mine often on long highway rides to listen to the truckers. You'll get good info on traffic and workarounds.

Was on my way to Virgina last year and heard about a 12 mile backup. Was able to get off the highway and avoid creeping along.

i agree on the mileage; it gets really bad at those types of speeds. As far as using the CB; I never have since I don't ride with anyone that has one. I have a Scala Rider that I use with the guys I usually ride with for conversation.

Bike to bike comm and ch. 19 monitoring with the squelch way up to listen to nearby truckers. Not really a good solution for longer distance communication.

I've had two Ultra's and never used the CB once. I have one now and never plan on using it. If I have an emergency I have a cell phone.

My riding buddy recently picked up an 08 Ultra and him and I converse with each other while out on our weekly ride. I have used it to monitor Sunday return traffic on I-90 in eastern washington--I have ridden around stalled traffic several times with the help of truckers.
