Default Maiden Voyage

Well the streets finally got clear enough for me to take my maiden voyage on my new 2010 EGC. I bought it 12/29 and haven't been able to ride it until today. I will have to say I'm very impressed with the handling. Got about 40 miles in today before I went numb. It sure felt good to get out even though it was pretty chilly. This is my first Harley and I was hesitant about buying one after riding metrics for years. But all the positive posts about the new touring frame convinced me to try one and so far I think I made the right decision. Power seemed adequate but according to the manual I'm suppose to stay under 3k rpm for the first 50 miles so I'm not quite there yet. Thanks everyone for the positive posts and convincing me to try this new HD, I'm very pleased with my decision. Come on Spring!!!

Congrats on the "Maiden voyage" Yes, I think they handle pretty good. I took mine on an exit ramp the only time I have ridden it since I got it. (2010 FLHX) It seemed very solid. I look forward to doing some back road riding, curves and such. One of these days soon.

I thought about riding this morning, but now we have snow on the ground 170 miles north of you.

Roads are still too crappy for me. I'm hoping for some warmer weather soon. My scoots are feeling lonely. I keep staring at them int he garage.

Where did you get the new ride at?

Congrats on the new ride, and the fact that you could get her out of the garage and enjoy her. That's a great feeling, at least as long as you can feel it before the frost sets in. Believe me, I know what you're talking about. Way to go.

Wow, I didn't notice you were near me. (Whiteman, AFB) I did mention to my coworkers that today wasn't too bad. Upper 40s for a little while I think this afternoon. I had to work, this was our Drill Weekend. So I won't see my bike again until NEXT weekend. (I HOPE it is nice then... guess I'll wait and see.)

Congrats on getting the first ride in. I took my first ride in 55 days and rode a complete lap around Kansas City on I-435. It was very chilly!

I bought my bike at Topeka Harley. A very nice dealership and they treated me very well. Unlike some dealers in KC, that I wont mention.
