Save your money. You get two years out of the box anyway. If you customize as much as I do, you won't even think to take it back unless it is something major (engine/drivetrain).

IMO, buy the bike, ride it and see how it performs. If it doesn't give you any trouble and you are going to keep it past the two year warranty, then look at buying one. You won't use the extended warranty the first two years anyway. They are a little more expensive then, but not that much.

+2 on what King said

I love wrenching on my own ride. Get the bike and a FACTORY service manual and do all your own servicing. You get to know your ride better that way! I plan too many mods after the 2 year is up so I would rather use the cost of the warranty to do my major engine work!

Ride safe

I say save your money. My '06 EGC has 60K+ miles on it and hasn't required anything other than regular maintenance to keep it running good. I didn't get the extended warranty for the 2010 Limited that I just bought either. I expect the new bike to be just as reliable.

I agree with those posting above. Get a service manual. Save the extended warranty $$ and buy a lift and some tools. Get to know and trust an indy shop near you for the deep stuff. I loved working on my 06 WG. It's a nice feeling of accomplishment and after the money is spent, I still have the tools!
