cam chain 88tc part 2
Ok , now that i got your opinion, i need 1 more. If you care to , tell me how much you spent on the 95" kit plus the cams. I was quoted 24-2600.oo without head work! installed. I was told i'd need to buy heads, because noone has a flow bench in my area. (2 heads @1600.00)+ the $2600, might as well throw this one away & buy a cvo. LOL!!!

Are you doing the work yourself? If so you can get all the parts from one of the discount online places for about $1200. I'd go hydraulic tensioner set up personally. It's quiet, if your slightly out of spec for crank runout you won't be able to run gears anyway and you can do the hydraulic set up yourself for a couple hundred less than gears. Gear drive is really pointless on a mild street engine, it only really makes a difference in an all out effort engine where 1 or 2 hp is the difference between winning and losing, but some guys like the noise it makes. If you want a reliable strong running 95" go with the SE flat top pistons, bore your jugs to match or pick up a set of the SE 95" jugs(you can find the part numbers in the HD SE catalog online, go to the website, then click on experience, then click on racing, then choose the 2nd catalog in the SE list). If you ride 2 up loaded a lot go with an Andrews 26 cam otherwise the 37 is nice, send the heads to Big Boyz for a street port(about $350) and use a Cometic .030 head gasket. You can get the parts list for the hydraulic tensioner set up from the Andrews cams website and then order from an HD dealer. I've built 4 95" engines recently with the SE flat tops, 2-1 pipe, Andrews 37N cams(hydraulic conversion cams) and a PCIII for tuning. Every one has made at least 100/100 on the dyno when tuned and they run premium pump gas with no pinging in hot weather.
