I painted the inner on my FLHTCI and now getting part of my Road Glide inner done. No big deal to a painter.... my painter does it all the time...

Had mine painted metallic black, one of the coolest mods you can make, looks sharp and real easy to clean. Painter charged $120.

One of the first things I did back in '03 was to paint my inner fairing. I've received many favorable comments on the inner fairing paint from other RG riders and inquiries as to where I had it done. It was such a cool thing to do I figured MoCo would eventually offer painted inner farings for sale. They do offer the painted batwing inners painted but not the Road Glides .. however, I haven't seen a new 2007 parts catalog yet .. it's only a matter of time.

I'll be doing mine soon. How much trouble is it to remove all the stuff in the RG fairing and replace it? Did you tag everything, or what? Yours looks sharp.

Ive hand carved teak wood for my center tank console and I hand painted the center of my inner fairing with acrylic water based paint to simulate wood grain to match console. I also sprayed it with a matt finish clear so there be no glare.

Just got a new inner for the RG - pulled the rubber trim off and the painter just picked it up -

Question - for those of you that have painted your RG inner - I found the rubber trim very tight - what sealant did you use to re-attach it to the inner???

My rubber fits kind of tight (not usually a problem for me) If you come up with a solution by using another trim piece, let me know so I can use it too. ZOOK

The hardest part seems to be disassembling it to take to the painter, then keeping it from getting scratched when you put it back in... at least on the FLHTs.

Pick of mine installed after I painted it.
