MAG (Motorcycle Aftermarket Group) owns Forge Tec as well as Performance Machine and many other companies such as J&P Cycles and Vance and Hines.

Forge Tec and PM operate in the same building and therefore customer service and sales are handled by PM staff.

7+ weeks is a long time to wait for a set of wheels but unless someone keeps the Forge Tec wheels in stock then that isnt unheard of, especially around the holidays.

It took 6 months to get my Creations 5 rims. I bought directly from PM (via my buddy's shop) right when the merge was happening (at least this is what I was told). Because of this, PM didn't bring over Forge Tec's machines or their programs (for the machines) and had to "recreate" the program for the Creations 5 and load it in the PM machines.

It was a grueling wait. I have to agree about PM's customer service. If they have it in stock great, but if not...they are full of deceit and false hopes and promises.

Also, Coastal Moto Man is absolutely correct about MAG owning PM/Forge Tec (merged together), V&H, etc. They own alot of the big names. IIRC, they also own Kuryakyn.

After reading this, let me elaborate...

While waiting for my rims...I got all kinds of stories like, going to powder coater, hubs being chromed (not same as powder coater), they will be back on this date then go through our QA...if passed shipped on this date. Each time they were contacted, the date would be pushed out 2-3 weeks and an apology was graciously given.

They even offered a refund. I elected not to take it because I was on a quest to get my damned wheels since I already waited as long as I had.

Do you think it would make any difference if you contacted someone at MAG about the PM issues? Im thinking they are too big now and could probably care less. OP... you might start looking for a different brand wheel unless a 2-3 month wait is not a problem for you.

I doubt it and quite honestly, I wouldn't even waste my time.

On a different note, I have thought about switching to different rims (yes, even after the long grueling wait). If I do, I will be placing my Creations 5 set-up in the classifieds to off-set the price.

I'd sell mine for $2500 right now with tires (brand new 200mm rear / 6K of front). Just saying.

I got the creation 7's from EP for a good deal. Had them in stock so it only took a few days to receive.
Their price couldn't be beat for the Forge-tecs. Moto tried but couldn't get close. In Motos defense they wouldn't have made anything off them at the price i got. They did offer a decent package but i wanted the 3D as well.
