Default iPhone charge

I'm going to hardwire my garmin to my scoot. I beleive the transformer steps down the voltage to 5v. Do you think I could get a female USB adapter (for the garmin mini USB) to plug my iPhone cable to? Would 5v adequately charge.

You might check that voltage, make sure it doesn't mess up your Iphone. I have been told that Apple does not recommend any car charger to charge the Iphone. I'd guess you could assume any type of vehicle charging system. Although I know several who have done so with no problems. Just a thought.
