Default street glide gas cap??

My buddy just bought an '08 street glide. Is there supposed to be a regular gas cap under the flip up cover? If so, anyone know the part number?

Yes there should be. 61274-92 is the number for '07 and '09, I assume it's the same for an '08.

Hmm, '09 Street Glide, and didn't have one on delivery. I thought I was missing something

Been there and done that. Fortunately only got a couple miles down the road before my ever slowing down brain clicked. You know, one of those nagging feelings that you forgot something. Went back and got it. I look pretty cool cruisin into the station and parking behind the car at the pump. The guy gave me one of those looks and chuckled. Oh well, at least I didn't have to buy a new one.

If I'm riding alone I always set my gas cap on my seat so that I won't forget it.
If my wife is with me I hand it to her to hold on too.

I know for a fact there is an extra one laying on a gas pump somewhere in New Hampshire! Same gas cap fits from 06 to 10. Ask me how I know lol

So far I've lost a gas cap, a cigarette lighter, and a saddle bag pin! Whenever I lose something I buy two more of them so that I can keep an extra in the saddle bags. So as long as I don't lose my saddle bags I should be okay!
